A new years treat

As a regular reader of The Miniatures Page I came across an article today describing the Battle of Stow-on-the-Wold. Interesting both because its pretty close and also because its based on an article by club member Stuart Asquith.

The real threat though was it led to this rather splendid picture of the man himself from 1978, which was coincidently the year after I took up the hobby.

  1. I defy anyone over 50 to look at this photo without hearing the them tune to 'The Sweeney' in their head.

The figures have worn well though and I really must get one of those Hinchliffe bridges.

  3. I think its a shame that standards have slipped - a chap would nt dream of playing in the 70's without donning a collar and tie. We've even had players in shorts - shocking!

  4. It must be an informal occasion as Mr Asquith has rolled up his sleeves half way to the elbow!
